Display Modes

The molecule can be rendered in any of the following modes.

Ball-and-Stick

Atoms are drawn as spheres and bonds as cylinders. Connectivity and bond geometry are both clearly visible, which makes this the most generally useful mode.

Space-Filling

Each atom is drawn at its van der Waals radius. This mode conveys the volume the molecule actually occupies and the steric bulk of its substituents.

Wireframe

Only the bonds are drawn. The reduced visual density keeps large structures legible.

Hide Hydrogen

Hydrogen atoms are hidden so that the carbon skeleton stands out. This option can be combined with any of the three modes above.

Atom Labels

The element symbol and index of each atom are displayed beside it. These indices are the ones used elsewhere in the application to refer to individual atoms.
